About AFI
Founded in 1967, AFI is a nonprofit national institute providing leadership in screen education and the recognition and advancement of excellence in the art of film, television and digital media.
AFI trains the next generation of filmmakers at its Conservatory, maintains America's film heritage through the AFI Catalog of Feature Films and explores new digital technologies in entertainment and education through the Digital Content Lab and K-12 Screen Education Center.
AFI is the largest nonprofit motion picture exhibitor in the US, with two annual film festivals, AFI FEST and SILVERDOCS, and year-round programming in Los Angeles and the DC area. AFI’s well-known awards and television events honor the best works and artists of American cinema.
